The Journey

Our journey through life will be influenced by our character — "I made it and I can change it."

"With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

Ephesians 4:2–6 (KJV)

Two Messages, One Word

The Doctrine & the Gospel

For the Believer

The Doctrine of Christ

The heart and soul of Christianity — it tells us the what and why of what we must do to have Eternal Life. Six foundational principles, laid down in Hebrews, that carry a believer from milk to strong meat, on unto perfection in Christ.

"For when for the time ye ought to be teachers…" — Hebrews 5:12

&
For the Unsaved World

The Gospel of Christ

The who, what, when and where of how we are to teach the Word of God to an unsaved world concerning Salvation — the Great Commission in its full Big Picture: Matthew 28, Mark 16, and Luke 24 read together as one conversation.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…" — Matthew 28:19

Hebrews 6:1–3

Six Foundation Stones

"…not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

I

Repentance from Dead Works

The turning point

II

V

The living hope

VI

Eternal Judgment

The final account

I · Repentance from Dead Works

Before anything can be built, the old must be left behind. Repentance is not sorrow alone — it is a deliberate turning away from works that lead to death, the first stone every believer lays.

The Author

A Lifetime Spent
Testing Doctrine Against Scripture

Raised in a God-fearing Alabama family and groomed from childhood to become a Southern Baptist pastor, Ken Miller's path took him through seminary, the pulpit, fourteen years in the military, and thirty-three years of teaching — until one conviction would no longer let him go: doctrine must come from Scripture, not from denominations.

Fifty years of classes, notes, and study — kept, compiled, and finally written down — became The Big Picture: Understanding the Doctrine of Christ. Today Ken worships and teaches at Cross Bridge Christian Church in Sumter, S.C.

Having a Masters Degree in Christian Ministry, I have read and studied many books, and this is one of the most revealing books I have had the pleasure of reading… a well thought out and well-developed study.
